facebook remains something less than impressive

i've not been on facebook for quite some time. i created a new account last week and began having posterous "broadcast" to it - for the background/wallpaper series. surprising, or not - depending upon your perspective, my posterous posts into facebook worked fine...initially. then, late last week, i began to have issues and failures with posting to facebook as a conduit in posterous.

i made an arbitrary note (on fb) about it last night when i realized that everything I'd posted for the last several days hadn't made it to facebook. and, to further confuse the issue, i directly "published"  (post to elsewhere) some of the items from imageme.maierphoto.com to facebook. again, while initially the posts worked fine - eventually, they began to fail. WTF?

i tweet'd it last night and luckily, the posterous gang - on top of things as usual - hopped on it and this morning i had a great email from vince explaining the real issue...facebook. applying arbitrary limits, undisclosed, coupled with little to no information when the actual "failure" occurs.

i call bobo...get your shit together facebook! *what* could possibly be considered against AUP with posting to your service. the posts were not ads, frought with links to various urls. the posts were not of pictures of *dubious* content. get real...what it makes me want to do is just shut down my facebook accounts and, frankly, use posterous ONLY!

uhm, thanks for listening ;)

I can sympathize with all your FB complaints Matt... I posted a final status to the effect of "walled gardens were supposed to die with AOL, find me on posterous and twitter" and haven't looked back since.
